Stacy Hoffman
fell in love with photographs in the first grade, checking Dare Wright's "Lonely Doll" books out of the library again and again. She didn't begin to pursue photography herself until twenty years later, after the purchase of a friend's second-hand Minolta. She often incorporates a narrative element into her photographs, with her focus always on a human form or face. When humans aren't handy, she has found dolls to be highly satisfactory models—uninhibited, available at odd hours, and untroubled by dirt and discomfort—as well as beautiful and expressive in their own right. Stacy is a native of Pittsburgh and a member and sometime student of Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
